SEX WORKERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME -TANSACS PROJECT

Working with target people like Sex workers, Transgenders and HIV/AIDs patients is a great challenges and we need lot of support and encouragement to face the challenges rising out of this service.

TANSACS is marching towards the national goal of zero new infections, zero stigma and zero HIV related deaths, with a series of innovative initiatives, like usage of a popular FM radio for awareness, development of a mobile app to bridge awareness with access to services, an user-friendly supply chain management system. Our RHYTHEM society has been registered in this scheme since december-2018.

Drop-in Centre:

During this year, we have conducted 36 Drop-in Centre (DIC) meeting held at RHYTHEM- TI office Tirupur. During this meeting we discussed about Government schemes, Social entitlements, HIV/AIDS, SYPHILIS, STI and TB symptoms and diseases, condom demonstration and explained the risk of unsafe sex.

Demand Generation activities:

We have conducted 76 hotspot meetings in this year at hotspots. During the meetings we had given awarness about risk and vulnerability of HRGs, High volume, Medium volume, Low volume, condom distribution and importance of condom usages.

Advocacy meeting:

During this financial year, we have conducted 5 stakeholder meetings at RHYTHEM TI office Tirupur. During the meetings we discussed about Social entitlement and Government schemes, Risk and vulnerability, New HRGs identification and our services were explained details.

Community Based Health Screening Camp (CBHS):

In the year 2020-2021we organised 24 Community Based Health Screening camp for our target people. The number of peoplewere tested during this year are as given below - 1188 (FSW - 558, MSM - 533, TG – 97).

Community event & Health Camp:

This year we organized 2 Community Events (15.12.2020 & 10.03.2021) at St.Joseph’s Matric Hr. Sec. School and atSt.Joseph’s Primary school in Tirupur. During these events, the Chair persons were Advocate Mr.Kalanithi Maranand TANSACS department staff and they explained about Government schemes and Social Entitlements for Poor people also known as PLHIVs. Cultural programmes were given by the target people.

Down Training:

On 03.11.2020 to 06.11.2020 we conducted Down Training of TI for the outreach Workers on Revamped Strategies and p-MPSE data collection at RHYTHEM unit– Maria Vocational Training Centre, Nallur.

From 10.11.2020 to 11.11.2020 we held Down Training of TI Peer Educators on Revamped Strategies and p-MPSE data collection at RHYTHEM - TI Office, Tirupur. Mr.Rabbindran - Program Officer -TSU- TI and Mr.Sivakumar - District Supervisor – DAPCU supported and guided the training. The participants benefited from this training.

MITR Training:

Karur region TIs staffs (PM & MEA) attended MITR training at Karur conducted by Mr. Easwaramoorthy, M&E – TSU and Mr. Rabbindran, PO - TSU. This training was held to discuss about Prevention, HIV & ART, TB, Revamped strategy, Monitoring and Evaluation. Mr.Venish Kumar and Mrs.Aloshiya Ezhilarasi actively participated in this training. This training was very useful for our project.

Official Visit to our Centre:

Mr.Kannadhasan, Technical Expert - TSU, Mr.Rabbindran, Program Officer - TSU, Mr. Sivakumar, DS - DAPCU, Tirupur made regular visits to our RHYTHEM TI office. They provided us suggestions and techniques to improve our activities, for the betterment of our service to the target groups and PLHIV follow up like viral load and CD4 testing.

Skill Development Program:

On 22nd November 2020 we have organized skill development programme for Transgender Community members in Neruparichal TG Colony. District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Director for district skill training office, Assistant Project Officer for Mahalir thittam, District Supervisor - DAPCU, Project Director and community members actively participated in this orientation. Altogether 116 memberswere participated.

World AIDS Day:

On December 1st 2020 we participated World AIDS Day meeting at the collectorate, Tirupur. Oathtakenfor aiming zero infection.On the World AIDS Day CBS camp was organized in Tirupur block. Totally 55 HRGs were tested in CBS camp. The results were Non - reactive.

Hearing-aid Assistance:

Mr.Sudhanani alias Sudhagar, has been a beneficiary of our TI Project for the past year and half. He was suffering from deafness. He requested us to help him to get a hearing-aid machine. We furnished the details of Sudhanani to a person named of Mr. Mohammed Rafiq. He provided the hearing-aid machine. Currently he hears well. He thanked the sponsor and RHYTHEM with tears of joy. we really appreciate hisgenerosity of heart.

Briyani Petti shop:
